So tell me more about how you failed this week.
Has anyone ever asked you that question before?
Maybe, but probably not. Most of
us tend to focus on our successes because that feels a lot better.
But we shouldn’t discount our failures! I didn’t begin to understand this concept until later in life… long after the eye rolls and liquefied embarrassment of my father rambling about failure to my friends in the car faded.
I didn’t yet realize why my dad was so zealous about failure! But, as I heard and learned from other extremely successful entrepreneurs about why they embrace failure, I realized that failure helps me learn from my mistakes, improve my ways of thinking and executing, and ultimately helps me grow in so many aspects.
Now, my dad conversates with me and my friends on a regular basis, and we don’t roll our eyes! We listen intently, and soak in the wisdom from an entrepreneurial man who failed many times, but succeeded even more.
You just don’t want to miss this short, but oh so sweet, episode, I promise!
